- Women endure violence for an average period of eight years.
- A woman is beaten on average 35 times before she seeks help.
- Women are killed - Domestic Violence constitute 18% of all murders
in this country.
- Official figures show that almost half of all murders of women are
committed by partners or ex partners.
- 100,000 women every year seek medical treatment for injuries
received in the home.
- Every year over 30,000 women and children flee violence and seek
safety in England alone, and a further 100,000 calls are received by
Women's Aid Federation of England from women asking for help and advice.
